Upcoming:

Some information Kevin Carney AE8L and Brian Jones AC5GL:

1.  FIELD DAY:  Kevin spoke with Paul, the President of SARC, and he said he would be glad for our Club to join SARC at Shavano Park for Field Day.  SARC would like some of our members to volunteer to assist in getting equipment out of SARC storage and transport it to the Shavano Park location.  SARC needs to know how many of our Club Members would like to set-up on Field Day.  SARC would like to know if you will be using telephone, CW, Digital or any other method or combinations; they also need to know if you will bring your own power source or connect to their generator for power.SARC also needs volunteers to help set-up at the park and a volunteer to go to BLANCO BAR-B-QUE to pick up dinner for the Field Day personnel.

2.  National Emergency Management Resources:  Meeting was held at the National Emergency Management Resources location, 7451 FM3009, Schertz, TX. 78154 on 4/12.  I believe the Government can hire them to assist in emergencies.  They have command vehicles, hospital set ups, and many other forms of apparatus.  They wish to get some feedback from Hams on uses and set-up of radios plus antennas, they would like some of our members to join them in working their emergencies. About 15 hams from SARC, AARO and SADRC were there. There may be more meetings in the future to help nail down NEMR’s communication plan.

WINTER FIELD DAY 2024 Message from Keith

Many thanks to all who helped make this years WFD a success.

AARO had 28 people at the site this weekend. We want to thank American Legion Post 300 for their awesome hospitality. I am working on assembling all the logs and will issue a report on them in days. A huge shout out to a special person to our club, Imee Numos. She has continued with her contribution this year just like the past several years. This event would not be the event it has become without our enthusiastic attendees. We had several non-hams working the radio under licensed control operators. Kelly Randal (WB5MZT) had many people visit his coax repair station. There are way too many people to thank for this awesome event, but everyone has special talents which contributed to a great time. Until the next one.
