Normallyhe Alamo Area Radio Organization (AARO) holds its general membership meetings on the second Wednesday of each month. Meetings will be held at the American Red Cross headquarters, 3642 E. Houston Street. The meeting starts at 7:00 p.m. sharp. You don't have to be a licensed HAM to attend; you only need to be curious! Dinner, socializing and other forms of eye-ball QSOs (face-to-face meetings) start around 6:30 p.m. The formal meeting starts at 7:00 p.m. sharp. Although we meet in University Hospital, we have a parking agreement with the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio (UTHSCSA), 7703 Floyd Curl Drive. By parking in UTHSCSA's Lot #4 we are able to park virtually in front of the hospital's main entrance. See the map.And following the regular monthly membership meetings a group continues their fun by re-gathering at Jim's Restaurant - Fredricksburg Road at Hillcrest, one block south of Loop 410. |

"Alternate Meeting Site" An informal gathering meets downtown at Piedras Negras de Noche, a restaurant near the S. Laredo/Cevallos Exit on I-35. These meetings occur on a semi-regular basis almost every Friday, with folks showing up anywhere between 11am and noon, although our first food order goes in about 11:30. If you can get away from the salt mine, there's always room for another at the table!! |
